April Showers, Bring Nutrition Power!
Food for thought
According to the World Health Organization, Nutrition is a critical part of health and development. Good nutrition is related to improved infant, child, and maternal health, stronger immune systems, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease), and longevity.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Nutrition is defined as the act or process of nourishing or being nourished and more specifically: the sum of the processes by which an animal or plant takes in and utilizes food substances According to the Oxford dictionary on Google the word power is defined as the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events.
In other words; Nutrition Power is defined as a health enhancement retail shop that utilizes its influence to nourish the process of your direct abilities and specific behaviors to take in and add substance and norshismnet to the course of your life. :)
There is power in nutrition and you have all access to Nutrition Power! Now let's talk about some tips that will help you activate it!
If you're anything like me, you might be feeling the impact of the ever-so-changing reality of our weather. I never suffered from allergies much in my younger years but something about the increase in my age has certainly increased my awareness of the importance of taking care of myself. ( I think they call that wisdom LOL) Whether it is environmental factors, seasons changing, diet, lifestyle, emotions, hormones, stress from a crazy day, or all of thee above, at the same time, my health and wellness journey prevails. I've been my own ginny pig most of the time and although it's proven to be effective (most of the time), I thought I might save you some time and trouble and share the health tips that work for me. Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing some simple steps for you to jumpstart your immune system, *decrease inflammation response,* and how to build upon the basics to bolster your overall health and wellness goals. My first health tip is all about starting from the bottom!
1. Foundation and fundamentals first!
We all know about the analogy of building your house with concrete versus using sand for your foundation right? Well, in a nutshell, the same thing is important for our body. We must start with a strong foundation if we don't want to be knocked down by every storm that comes sweeping through our homes. Literally.
My strong foundation suggestion is to start a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement every day. A good multivitamin is essential for overall health and daily performance, it will support energy levels and immunity can help your body recover from workouts, and can assist with hormone modulation, just to name a few. I like Thorne's Multi-Vitamin Elite.
I'm a personal trainer and group fitness instructor so this combo Is great for an active lifestyle and my high-performance regimens. I also like the AM and PM support because it makes sense for me to fuel my body for the day and evening separately.
The Thorne brand offers high quality and the vitamins and minerals are delivered in their most absorbable forms.* ( super important, all vitamins are not the same ) look for Vitamin D, it promotes strong bones and healthy immune function.* B vitamins support heart, blood vessel, and nerve health.* Vitamins K1 and K2 contribute to bone and blood vessel health.*
